You mention researching BROM but your storyline of his ressurrection from the grave is more zombie like. If he was buried with 'scars' and 'stitches' as you have drawn it would be that he was put back together post-mortum? Or was he in the hospital, surgeons worked on him and then he died? I would go with a zombie like look based on his BIO. Skin that continually regrows and dies in small and medium size patches. Show some bone, internal workings. I see the mummy/undead look you have going but was pointing out something I saw. I always 'see' necromancers as decrepit, old and hunchback/deformed...not sure about the cape...
